online university degree programs
Is there a difference between online degree programs and degree programs at a local university?
I AM INTERESTED IN ENROLLING IN AN ONLINE DEGREE PROGRAM BECAUSE I HAVE A HETIC WORK SCHEDULE AND I WOULDN’T BE ABLE TO ATTEND A LOCAL UNIVERSITY. DO EMPLOYERS LOOK AT AN EDUCATION FROM AN ONLINE COLLEGE THE SAME AS AN EDUCATION AT A LOCAL COLLEGE???

When you get your degree it will not state that you got it online. I know alot of universities such as Arizona State University (History), Kansas State University(Education), and Northern Arizona University (over 20 different degrees) that offer degrees solely online. If you are looking for a university, might I suggest Northern Arizona University. Their online degree programs are just like the ones on campus, you follow the same degree checksheets, have the same instructors, and reep the same benefits without having to go to class. No one will have to know that you got you degree online.

It probably depends on the employer. Any degree is better than no degree at all, so go for it. The difference between them to me is that usually online degrees are not thought of as highly by society, and are way more expensive.

Many higher education watchdog groups have been conducting surveys to discover employer’s current opinion on hiring workers who where trained through online degree programs. Across the board they are considered just as credible as receiving a degree from a traditional campus university. The US Board of education released a 12-year span of studies which found that online learning is potentially superior to the traditional campus standard. I’d advise that you do be careful though. Always make sure your degree program is accredited. Just visit the US Department of Education or CHEA website and search for your online school.
